Donuts With Santa
Since 2013, this is an annual fundraiser
to benefit the Branch County Coalition Against
Domestic & Sexual Violence. It takes place on the same day as the Downtown Coldwater
Christmas parade. Formerly known as the Cup of Comfort and Pancakes With Santa.
New location: Hope Cafe, 49 W. Chicago St.
- In 2015 and earlier, Cup of Comfort immediately followed the parade
(with Santa on his sleigh at the end of the parade, then heading over
to the Coach Eby Center).
Children saw Santa and did a craft, and grown ups purchased a cup to fill with coffee,
hot chocolate, cider, or soup.
- Starting in 2016, Cup of Comfort was the FIRST event of the
morning, at 10:30am, with Santa leaving at 1pm and then coming BACK for
the new nighttime parade at 7pm.
- Starting in 2017, the event is renamed Pancakes With Santa
and has been moved to the late afternoon (starting at 4pm [Santa at 4:15pm] and lasting until
the parade). Pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage sandwiches, and other goodies
were served.
- Starting in 2023, the event is renamed Donuts With Santa
and the location is moved to the BCCADSV Hope Cafe at 49 W. Chicago St.
Regardless of the incarnation there has always been live entertainment. Since 2013, Delbert Walling and
Haley Houtz (formerly Smith) have performed.
